Wythenshawe Community Media - Lottery
Registered Charity No 1143638
Wythenshawe FM is a local community radio station that use the medium of radio to support local people to learn new skills and help build their confidence.
It works with various individuals, some with physical and mental health barriers to produce their own radio shows and have more independence in their lives. Our Lottery is operated by Unity which is the nation's fundraising lottery platform. It's designed to give good causes large and small - from a village playground fund to an international charity - the chance to raise money through their own weekly lottery.
When you join a lottery using the Unity platform, the platform guarantees that at least 50p of every £1 you play goes to your chosen cause. The remaining 50p is used by the platform to provide prizes and cover administration. This means that your chosen cause can run their own fundraising lottery with no ongoing cost to them!

WFM'S Sam Morris - 24 hour challenge -Sept 2024
Hi. My name’s Sam.In lockdown I did a 24 hour challenge seeing what distance I could cover in my back garden and indoors in this time. I did the equivalent of 3 marathons. So… I want to do it again without any space restrictions!
I will start at a parkrun on Saturday 7th September (to be confirmed which one I choose) and will carry on afterwards running back close to home to do loops until 9am on Sunday morning.
I am raising funds for the MND Association in memory of my dad who I lost to this cruel disease back in 2003 AND for Wythenshawe FM who are a community radio station I have been volunteering for and doing shows with since March 2022.
Wythenshawe FM relies on fundraising and sponsorships to help keep the station functioning and this is my way of giving back after they have given me the opportunity to be a part of what they do.
Monies raised will be split equally and I will be sure to make sure you see me presenting those monies to both projects. https://gofund.me/19d8d559
Motor Neurone Disease is horrific and we need a cure.
Every donation is gratefully received and will mean so so much. Thanks in advance.
